Board of Directors, History of El Chorro Dog Park

El Chorro Dog Park opened the gates in 2001, we’re the first fenced, off-leash Dog Park in San Luis Obispo County.  It was built by SLO-4-PUPs, a volunteer organization that is part of CCDPA (Central Coast Dog Park Alliance).  CCDPA is a tax-exempt 501c3 nonprofit corporation that works to provide recreational opportunities in this county.  El Chorro Dog Park was built by volunteers with donations from dog lovers throughout the county.  Many of these original supporters are recognized on the kiosk display board.

The Board of Directors of SLO-4-PUPs meets periodically to discuss the management of the dog park.  They are responsible for raising the money needed to maintain and enhance the dog park.  They also help with regular activities, such as cleaning, spreading wood chips, and planning and hosting events. The Board consists of 5 to 10 members.  Board meetings are open to the public.  People wishing to join the Board are asked to attend several meetings first, to see if they wish to be part of the Board.
